Jim is the owner of Reliable Edge; a shear sharpener and distributor company of high quality professional Japanese shears, for professional hair stylist and barbers, based in Eagan, MN.
Jim has been in the industry over 40 years.

His interest in sharpening started when he was tired of Local sharpeners that were not up to the caliber he was used to.
Jim started his sharpening journey just as he did hair styling career. Receiving training from the best Japanese Sensei's (Master or teachers) in the world.
Jim sharpens all Japanese scissors by hand honing the inside edge and convexing the outside edge to manufactures specifications.
Jim has been sharpening for 15 years now. Jim is a CosmoProfs Authroized in store sharpener for the Midwest for the last 10 years. Jim also sharpens for the RUSK design team.
